First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Big Leap.
Digital Marketing Specialist
The hiring process involved two stages plus an assessment, and it was completed in under two weeks. The first interview was with the director and two managers who needed a specialist. It was laid-back but not totally informal. They asked about my preference for agency versus client-side work, my SEO knowledge (mainly keyword research and tools), work habits, and other basic questions about my experience and start date. Then, I had to take a personality test and complete a site audit assignment within 48 hours. After that, I had a second interview with the same people and a leadership team member, where they asked more in-depth questions about my experience, behavioral questions, and some cultural fit questions.
- Would you prefer to submit a perfect project past its deadline, or an okay project on time?
- Which field within marketing captures your interest the most?
- Can you detail your experience using tools such as SEMrush, Moz, and Screaming Frog?
Digital Marketing Specialist
I applied for the Digital Marketing Specialist role and got an email for an interview within a couple days. Scheduling was a breeze. I had a chat with two marketing directors who introduced themselves and asked me some questions. After that, they said I'd get an audit to do and a personality test to take, both due the next day. I finished the audit that same night and sent it first thing in the morning with my personality test. Since Thanksgiving was coming up, I figured I wouldn't hear back for a bit, so I waited until the week after the holiday to check in. About six days later, I got a reply inviting me for a second interview with a director and some managers. The managers asked more about what sparked my interest in the job and how I handle feedback or doing the same things over. The whole thing was really chill, no pressure, which was great. They said I'd know about a decision on Friday, but I got an email way before then and accepted the offer.
- What's motivating you to leave your current employment?
- How do you manage criticism and repetitive tasks?
- Do you have experience with SEMrush or screaming frog?
Digital Marketing Specialist
The whole process was really pleasant and moved super fast, which was a nice surprise. They really focused on getting to know me as a person and what my digital marketing strengths are. I felt comfortable talking about the areas where I'm not as strong. I liked every part of the interviews and met great people I could see myself working with.
- Can you tell me about what your ideal relationship with a manager looks like?
