Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Big Health (CA).
Software Engineer
Got a message from a recruiter on LinkedIn. First, there was a recruiter screen, pretty standard stuff. After that, I had a hiring manager screen, which was behavioral. I never got to any technical rounds. The hiring manager didn't even introduce themselves, just asked one or two questions and decided I wasn't a good fit. Felt like a big waste of time for everyone involved. They either don't know how to properly assess candidates or they're doing a bad job of screening.
- Can you describe your decision-making process?
Software Engineer
The interview process was thorough but low stress. Everyone was very focused on my comfort and exuded warmth and calm. Expect several interviews focused on various topics of development and have opinions ready. I received a thorough outline that gave me plenty of time to prepare.
- How have you managed and addressed tech debt in your experience?
Software Developer
The interview process comprised of five progressive stages, three of them online interviews with engineering team, manager and CEO. It also involved a short (and very well thought-through) task to be completed at home, as well as a visit to the office in London. The interview scheduling was excellent, with clear information on each of the stages, very efficient communication, and flexibility in arranging timings. The interview process enables to meet the engineering team as well as members of other teams and gives a very good insight about the company culture and values. The feedback is given throughout the process. Overall a very positive experience.
- Can you describe the edge cases for the program?
