Got a message from a recruiter on LinkedIn. First, there was a recruiter screen, pretty standard stuff. After that, I had a hiring manager screen, which was behavioral. I never got to any technical rounds. The hiring manager didn't even introduce themselves, just asked one or two questions and decided I wasn't a good fit. Felt like a big waste of time for everyone involved. They either don't know how to properly assess candidates or they're doing a bad job of screening.

Behavioral Presentation

So for the Customer Success Manager role, the process kicks off with a recruiter call to chat about your background and why you're interested in Big Health. Next, there's a video call with a Customer Success Executive. This call is about 45 minutes and goes deeper into your background, your interest in Big Health, and the role itself. You'll both ask questions. Then comes a 45-minute role play where you'll lead a new customer kickoff meeting. A Customer Success Executive will play the customer, and the VP of Customer Success will watch. The meeting focuses on their main product, Sleepio. You won't get any prep materials besides access to a demo, so you have to come up with everything on the spot. Finally, there are about four 30-minute interviews with other Big Health team members. After that, they'll decide on an offer.

I applied for the User Happiness Officer role (Part-Time/Remote) on the Big Health website on April 11th. I got a response on April 28th and scheduled my interview for May 4th. The whole thing took about 2-3 weeks. The manager was super clear and nice the entire time. It was a 3-step interview process: First, a 30-minute video call with the manager to talk about my interest and background with the company, with normal interview questions. Second, there was a test where I had to do a mock call and write an email sample; they sent materials to help prepare. Third, another 30-minute video call to meet the team and get a vibe for the workplace. After that, they'd decide on an offer. Everyone was friendly and genuinely believed in their mission.

The interview process was quick, efficient, and comprehensive, spanning 4 stages over 3.5 weeks. It included a video call with the hiring manager, a take-home assignment, a panel interview, and a final interview. I was really impressed with how well-structured, efficient, and punctual the interviews were, covering specific competency areas. Everyone I met was friendly and clearly enjoyed their jobs at Big Health. The whole process was a great experience and gave me a good feel for the company culture. After receiving an offer, I also had the chance to chat with future colleagues and cross-functional partners. I felt highly valued and well-treated throughout.
