Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.
Intern
It was a one interview process with the directer and manager of outreach. Super kind and just behavioral questions about how you work with people on a team and communicate with others.
- Tell me about yourself and asked about past experiences on resume
Intern
The interview process was really short and it seemed like the interviewer wasn't sure why I was there. I had to drive 30 minutes to get to the office and only stayed for 12 minutes. I was unhappy with how it went. If you don't think a candidate is a good fit, don't invite them for an in-person interview. I had a phone interview first, and then they asked me to come in. Basically, as soon as I mentioned my major, you could tell they didn't think I was a good fit.
- Can you introduce yourself?
Intern
They used a standard list of questions with some flexibility for discussion. We could do the interview over Facetime, which was super helpful. The interview was pretty chill, but they did check references and do a background check since I'd be on-site where kids sometimes are, even though I wouldn't be working directly with them.
- What are your top three strengths and weaknesses?
