Behavioral Other

The interviewer was nice and patient. It went about 15 minutes over. The signal wasn't great where I was, so it wasn't super long. It felt more like we were just sharing experiences. We had a really good back-and-forth and they gave me positive feedback.

Behavioral Technical

They ask you a bunch of questions through text prompts, and you have to record your answers on video. Most of them are scenario-based and take about 40 minutes to answer. You get 3 tries for each question. If you mess up, there's no time limit before you pick to try again, so my advice is to gather your thoughts and have a bullet point list ready to help answer the question.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • Describe a situation where you had to alter a decision because new information came to light about the circumstances, and explain the outcome.

Technical Behavioral Case Presentation

After submitting my application online, I completed some online tests that were fairly straightforward. Then, I had a phone interview with a third-party company, and it was difficult to understand the interviewer. It wasn't very long and mainly focused on typical behavioral questions, such as discussing a time I encountered an obstacle, how I handled unsafe situations, and my reasons for applying to BHP. Following that was the assessment center, which was quite enjoyable and relaxed. It started with an information session, after which we were split into two groups. One group worked on a case study and presentation, while the other group had interviews before swapping roles. The interviews were conducted at different stations, each centered around a specific theme like safety or management. After the stations, there was an opportunity to ask questions to the entire group. They took a considerable amount of time to respond with feedback.
