First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at BHP.
Trainee Engineer
The interview process involved a video assessment through the HireVue system, an online video evaluation. You can complete this video assessment using your phone, tablet, or computer, and it should take about 20 to 30 minutes. You have the flexibility to record the video whenever and wherever suits you best, regardless of the time or location. We use these video interviews and game-based assessments as part of our hiring process.
- Describe a situation where you encountered a problem. Explain the issue, your approach to resolving it, and the outcome.
Engineer
The phone interview was kind of weird. An overseas person who barely speaks English called and asked a ton of questions. The phone kept cutting out, like 9 times, which I guess was out of our control, but it was awkward and annoying. I figured it would be more personal, but the interviewer just typed up the answers awkwardly and probably sent them to someone else. Not sure if that's a good way to hire people? The interview process itself is pretty straightforward though.
- What makes you want to join BHP?
- Are there any questions you'd like to ask me?
