Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at BHP.
Business Analyst
The interview process was straightforward and friendly. I felt very comfortable during the interview, and it wasn't too formal. The panel provided a good overview of the role, including expectations for travel and hybrid working.
- Can you tell me about your experience with safety-related processes and release management?
Technology Analyst
The interview experience was decent. The interviews involved self-recorded responses which were easy to understand, and the final output highlighted strengths and weaknesses. I would have preferred live interviewers over pre-recorded sessions though. I'm also unsure if all the recorded videos from participants were actually watched.
- How did you handle challenges in your past roles, and what steps did you take to resolve them?
Business Analyst
So I had an automated test first, like logic stuff, took about 2 hours. Then there was a recorded interview, I had a week to do it. After that, I had two more interviews, one with HR and then the hiring manager. Finally, I met with the hiring manager's boss.
- Behavioral questions
- Technical questions involving case study with financial model build up
- Decision tree analysis
