Associate
The interviewer and HR were nice, but the company seems to be looking for candidates willing to accept lower salaries, which unfortunately wastes a lot of people's time. If you're a fresher, it might be worth a shot, but otherwise, you're probably better off looking for other opportunities.
- Can you tell me about your current skills and how they align with what we're looking for?
Relocation Consultant
I got contacted by a recruiter within days of applying. He was nice and asked basic questions, then said he'd set up a call with the hiring manager. He told me to call him if I didn't hear back by the end of the week, which I had to do. The next Monday, the hiring manager called me to talk about the role, responsibilities, and my background. She didn't even know the recruiter had already spoken to me. She said she'd tell the recruiter to set up an in-person interview with her and the director, and I should hear back soon. A few days passed with no word, so I reached out to the recruiter again. He emailed back saying the job was only for internal people due to a hiring freeze and I wouldn't get an interview. He suggested I watch for future openings. This felt like a big waste of time and was a turn-off. Their communication seems to be a mess.
- What makes you want to join Brookfield?
- Can you introduce yourself?
- What would you say is your biggest strength?
Relocation Consultant
I met with both the Associate Manager and the Manager for the team. The team I was interviewing with deals heavily in home sales, so I was asked a lot of questions initially about real estate, and the home sale process, including home sale, title work, inspections, short sale situations, etc.
- What's your approach to dealing with a difficult customer?
- Can you discuss your understanding of real estate and the home sale process?
- Have you dealt with title work before? Tell me about it.
Relocation Advisor
It took a while to get started after applying, with a big gap before the first interview. The actual interview part was quite straightforward and brief. There was a good amount of paperwork involved for clearances and HR stuff, but it was all pretty standard. Not many questions actually touched on the job or work experience itself. Most questions felt personal, and a couple were a bit unusual.
- What are your long-term career aspirations?
