The interview was held virtually on Microsoft Teams and lasted about 45 minutes. I was interviewed by a two-person panel and asked 6 behavioral questions, with 6 of them being STAR-based. I was informed that further communication would be sent via email.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

It was a pretty simple interview process. It was a mix of panel interviews and one-on-one conversations. Each person asking questions had their own list ready. They asked things like 'What are your strengths?', 'Give me an example of something', 'Tell me about a difficult situation', and 'What were your successes?'. It would be good to do some research on what's happening now and bring it up in the conversation, as they seemed to appreciate it. The dress code was business casual, which made things feel pretty relaxed. The managers, who were VPs, wore skirts or jackets and ties. The company culture felt a bit mixed, like a blend of a conservative, regulated utility company that also wanted to be seen as progressive.

I had an on-campus interview after chatting with recruiters at the career fair. The recruiters and first interviewers were junior engineers from the company. Then, I had two phone interviews, each with an engineer or manager and an HR person. Finally, the manager of the specific department I was interviewing for asked me questions related to the intern responsibilities.

  • What are your thoughts on the importance of diversity within a team?
