First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Beyond, Inc..
Buyer
Started with a recruiter chat, then went into a bunch of panel interviews with different people on the team. They asked me about my background, if I'd fit in, and what I'd done before. The recruiter then offered me the job and went over the benefits, and they were open to talking about the final salary.
- Can you share some of your past experiences?
Buyer
It started with a recruiter calling to see if I knew anyone for a Furniture Buyer role. When I said I'd think about it, she called back to ask if I was interested myself. I sent my resume and got a call back within two weeks. The first interview was with the DMM and Director for about an hour and a half, where we talked a lot about what I'd done in past jobs. Then, they called me back for a second interview with five people from different departments and a SVP. I could tell the people there were really talented and knew their business well. They were very thorough in checking my math, product knowledge, retail experience, industry contacts, and what my immediate plans would be for the job. I felt challenged and found my business understanding was a big help.
- Tell me why you think you're the best candidate for this position.
- Can you calculate 5 percent of 60?
Sourcing Analyst
I applied and got an unexpected phone interview from HR about a week later. Another week passed, and I had a 30-minute phone call with two senior folks asking only behavioral questions. A week after that, I went in for an on-site interview. It had three parts: first, an Excel test where I had to analyze a dataset to find trends and insights, then behavioral questions, and finally, a tour of the office.
- Can you share an experience of working cross-functionally with other departments?
- Recount a time when you had to make a tough decision.
- Describe a situation where you encountered a challenge.
