It was pretty straightforward, about 3-4 rounds total. They really dug into my sports knowledge and my ability with numbers and math. It was thorough, and it was good to chat with other traders to get a feel for what the job would actually be like.

I had an initial screening with an HR rep which was pretty standard. We went over my resume and talked about logistics. The job was advertised as remote on LinkedIn but hybrid on their site, and the pay wasn't competitive. The benefits were good, but not enough to offset the low salary. I withdrew my application and told the HR rep why, saying I wanted to stay in touch, but I got an automated rejection instead of a reply, which made me question their culture. The HR rep mentioned the hiring manager was keen on in-office work and relocation, so if you're looking for a remote role, be sure it's explicitly stated, as there's not much flexibility usually.

I went through an initial interview, then an assessment, and was supposed to have a second interview, but it got postponed. Then, my final interview was also postponed. When they asked for my availability, I told them I could do either of the two days they suggested. After that, BetMGM stopped contacting me. I sent three messages asking about the new interview date, but never got a response. I even messaged all three people who were supposed to be in my final interview. I also asked if I was no longer being considered for the job. All in all, they had me waiting for over a month with all the delays and back-and-forth.

I went through 3 interviews for this position, and it's been 3 months since I applied. The interviews themselves were friendly, but the follow-up and response from BETMGM have been really inadequate. You'd expect a company like that to at least update candidates who interviewed, or even send automatic rejections. I'm really disappointed by the lack of communication, and I worry this is how the company operates overall. Poor communication and commitment issues can definitely impact customer experience. Whoever gets this process improvement job should probably start by fixing their own recruiting process. They need to listen to feedback, but it seems like nothing's been done about this unprofessional process.
