It was pretty standard, they wanted to know about my background and history. They asked some technical questions related to the engineering job and what I'd be doing. It was over the phone, and they did a review of my resume and past work.

I originally applied for a project manager/business analyst role, looking for a full-time position in California. Betasoft called the next day. The recruiter initially seemed polite, saying I was perfect for the business analyst position. She then inquired about my certifications. When I mentioned I had none but was familiar with methodologies, she became critical, stating I lacked experience and wouldn't be hired. She then proposed an unpaid certification project opportunity with weekly evaluations for continued involvement. I expressed interest in paid work, not an internship. This apparently offended her, and she began yelling about my lack of experience and future job prospects. I ended the call politely, but she continued yelling.

The whole process is a scam. They require you to pay $500 as security deposit. The phone interviewer was very persuasive. I thought that it was very sketchy because he called me several times to tell me to check my email about the things I should I submit to complete the process.
