Internship
I applied online for Viacom internships. About a month later, a talent recruiter called me for a phone interview. It was pretty relaxed and asked about my background, goals, and experience to figure out placement. She mentioned a potential internship with BET and that she'd forward my resume. A week after that, BET got in touch and set up an in-person interview with four interviewers. They asked similar things as the recruiter, plus BET-specific questions. It was easy if you know about BET and entertainment. The interview went smoothly, no need to be stressed. I got the offer two weeks later.
- Can you tell me about your career goals?
- What are some of your favorite shows?
- What makes you interested in BET?
Intern
BET Networks has a huge office in LA, so give yourself plenty of time to find parking before you go. After getting inside, I met with two women right away. They asked me about my background, which BET shows I was familiar with, and what I could contribute to the role.
- Which BET shows do you watch?
Intern
I went through a program called T-Howard, which connects students with media companies. You have to apply to the program and tell them where you want your resume sent. They sent my resume out and I got an interview. They let me know I got the offer the very next day after I interviewed.
- What three things would you bring to a private island?
- What are your strengths and weaknesses?
- Where do you see yourself in the future?
