Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Best Western.
Front Desk
The interview was pretty easy. They asked relevant questions and were looking for someone that will be consistent and reliable for front desk. You are likely to get the job if you show reliability and interest in learning.
- What skills would you bring to this job?
Front Desk
The interview was very short. I was only asked a few questions about my past experience and if I had any questions. I would have liked to know more about the company itself but the interviewer seemed in a rush.
- Can you describe how you manage in a fast-paced setting?
Front Desk
I applied online and about a week later, I got a call for an interview the very next day. I got there 10 minutes early and they saw me right away in a meeting room. The interview was pretty simple, mostly asking about my past work. I mentioned I can multitask and the manager said they really needed that skill. We talked about the job duties, like checking people in, but also breakfast cleanup and laundry. They also told me the pay is $9-10/hr and after a 30-day probation, there's a $.50/hr raise. I think the manager liked my experience and how I talked on the phone, so the interview was just to make sure I wasn't crazy or anything.
