Presentation

The initial stages of the interview process were great, with really good chats with the team. I got to the final stage, which was an unpaid design challenge, making me a bit hesitant. The vibe during my presentation felt a little strange, and I got rejected soon after, which is okay and normal. What really bummed me out was that after spending hours on the challenge, I asked for feedback and heard nothing back. It felt kind of inconsistent with how positive and into it everything had been at the start.

It was a quick process. Started with a recruiter call, then an interview with the hiring manager, followed by a panel interview with 4 directors. The interviews were mainly about background and behavioral aspects, with some questions on the company's tech stack.

Coding Behavioral System Design

Got referred by someone I know to apply, then had a quick chat with a recruiter about the process. After that, I did a 4-hour take-home coding test with two leetcode-style problems and five questions where I had to analyze code. Then, I had a 5-round virtual interview with my potential manager, their boss, and some senior engineers from other teams. Four of those rounds were about how I'd fit in and my past experiences, and one was a system design discussion about an online storefront. I heard back about the job offer within 3 days.
