First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Best Buy Health.
Product Manager
I was contacted by a Senior Recruitment Consultant at Best Buy about an opening they thought would be a good fit. We had a 30 minute call where they asked me typical screening questions about my experience and salary expectations. I applied online after expressing interest, but immediately got an automated rejection. I told the recruiter about it, and she said it was probably due to my application answers. The automated rejection meant I was no longer a candidate. I never heard back from Best Buy. I won't apply to Best Buy again because a system seems to override human decisions.

Product Manager
They did an initial phone screen and then they reached out to ask about salary requirements. Glad they told me about the pay upfront. The pay was more than 15% below what I make currently so I politely refused.
- How would you show empathy towards an older demographic?
- Can you describe your experience in designing and implementing mobile applications?
Product Manager
The interview process was very smooth. It started with a 30-minute phone interview with the HR Director. A few days later, I had a 60-minute phone interview with the hiring manager. This was followed by a 4-hour onsite interview with six people from different departments, which also included lunch with a coworker. A few days after the onsite, I received an offer. The HR team, two great people, stayed in touch throughout, keeping me informed about next steps and when to expect feedback.
- How would you, as a product manager, gauge market needs?
- Can you outline your process from initial idea generation to product launch?
