Customer Service Representative
So it was a group interview first, then we did a tour of the place, and after that, there was an individual interview. Most people there had previous call center experience, but I came from retail with a focus on customer service, and I ended up getting the job. The group part seemed to be about how we interacted with each other and the potential bosses. Just make sure you smile, be polite, and try to stand out! Great Call really likes to hire bright, and often overqualified, people. For instance, I have over 4 years of retail management experience, and someone else hired has phlebotomy experience. There are really smart people all around me here!
- Tell me about a time you handled a specific situation.
- What would you do if you were having trouble understanding a customer?
Customer Service Representative
It was easy. They go through a staffing agency to get you through the door. Then once you're in, you have to sell yourself on why you'd be a good fit for their company. There's a lot of behavioral questions using the STAR technique. But just go in confident and talk about yourself and you'll do fine.
- Can you share an instance where you encountered a challenge and describe its resolution?
Customer Service Representative
First, there's a phone interview. If you pass that, you'll have an in-person meeting with the higher-ups. They mostly ask questions to see if you're empathetic, have a good work ethic, and are okay with working on the phone all day. They'll tell you everything you could ever want to know about the job, and then they'll call you either way to let you know if you got the job.
- Can you share a time you went the extra mile for a customer?
- Tell me about a personal accomplishment you're particularly proud of.
- Given this role involves phone work and interacting with the elderly, how do you feel about that aspect of the job?
