First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Bertrandt.
Software Engineer
The whole process had 3 main stages: First, an HR Interview, which was like a general intro chat with HR. They asked about my background, why I wanted the job, and if I knew about the role. Also asked about salary and if I'd relocate. Then, a Technical Interview that was online. This one was all about my technical skills, like solving problems or explaining stuff related to electronics/telecom/software. They wanted to see how I solve problems. Finally, the Final Interview which was on-site. This one had people from the team or managers. It was a mix of technical and behavioral questions. I got to see the office and meet people I might work with. Sometimes they add a small test or presentation here.
- Can you give me a brief introduction about yourself, including your background and what motivated you to apply?
- What makes you want to work for this specific company?
- Could you describe your strengths and weaknesses, and how you're working on improving them?
Software Engineer
The whole application process was very organized and pleasant. After applying, I received an invitation for a phone interview a few days later. The team lead called me and we spoke for about an hour. Mostly technical questions were asked, covering vehicle dynamics, programming languages, and control engineering. Afterward, I was invited to Munich for an in-person interview. That was also very pleasant. The potential role was presented, and there were more technical questions, but specifically related to the position. Finally, there were some questions about my personality and typical HR questions. Overall, I had a very positive experience.
- What is the disadvantage of a P-controller?
- What is the difference between C and C++?
- What type of data is transmitted via CAN?
Intern Software Developer
It was a great interview. The process involved one technical interviewer, who was the prospective team leader, and one HR interviewer. The team leader conducted most of the interview. The HR interviewer handled administrative things like start date, legal status, and expectations.
- I passed the interview.
- I received an offer.
- The recruiting department then indicated they are only hiring MANDATORY interns, despite indicating to the Interviewers clearly that I am looking for a VOLUNTARY internship.
