Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Berkshire Hathaway.
Senior Analyst
First there was a video call with HR to pre-screen me, after that I did an in person interview with HR, the Manager and a Team member. I also had to do a supplementary assignment before the interview. The interview itself was a review of my background and work experience, along with some Behavioral questions.

I had a phone chat with the hiring manager. Then, I went in for a face-to-face meeting with the whole team. They threw a few 'what-if' scenarios at me about dealing with subject matter experts, I think to check my diplomacy skills. They also tested my technical chops using some database output and asked how I'd write a script to get those results. We also talked about my experience with requirements gathering, documentation, testing methods, and data warehousing concepts. It was a panel interview with five people, but it wasn't tense, more of a relaxed vibe.
No confirmed questions were included in this interview report.

This was a pretty terrible hiring process. I had an initial call, then an in-person interview with two people, which I thought went well. They then asked me back for more interviews, saying they have at least 7 rounds. I had a few more interviews, about 3-4 in person and 1 on the phone. I was left in the dark for weeks at a time and had to keep reaching out for updates. After the last interview, I reached out multiple times and finally got an email for a quick call. They rescheduled it with little notice, but I agreed to make it work for them again. On the call, they said they liked me but thought I was too young, which they apparently knew from the first interview. It wasn't worth the effort to prepare, travel, and chase for updates, especially to end with age discrimination.
