Had a few interviews for the role. It involved technical and behavioral aspects, and also an interview with a senior manager. They gave me the chance to ask questions about the position and anything else I was curious about. It was important to be prepared with examples of my past work.

Behavioral Coding

It was mostly just talking with some live coding, but you could use whichever language you wanted. The live coding part wasn't too tough, mine was mainly about working with arrays and making sure the code was optimized. Be ready to chat about your resume and any personal projects you've done.

Technical Behavioral

Had 4 interviews for the job. Initially, I was told I wasn't technical enough. Then, they called me back a few weeks later because they realized they were understaffed. I interviewed with the same people twice and they asked the same questions. I found out the manager isn't familiar with the system and managers move around a lot – one manager I interviewed with had changed roles 6 times in his 8 years there, indicating a lack of stability. HR denied me because they were fixated on a prior non-compete agreement from a completely different industry and wouldn't review it. They were worried I'd recruit from my previous job, even though I wouldn't be in management and wouldn't risk getting sued.

Behavioral Technical

The hiring process was really drawn out. It kicked off with a phone screen with HR. The HR interviewer seemed really disengaged, like I was bothering her and she'd rather be doing something else. She was even late to call me, which wasn't a great start. Next, I spoke with a manager from the department I applied to. This manager was much more engaged and explained the role's expectations clearly. Then, I had an onsite interview where I met several people. The office itself was nice and in a good location. Unfortunately, I never heard back after that. I followed up multiple times via email and phone calls to HR, but didn't even get a basic rejection email. I put a lot of time into this, and a simple form letter would have been appreciated. Oh well, I guess it just wasn't meant to be.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • Manager was more job specific.
  • Questions were very basic.
