First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Berdon.
Database Administrator
The department manager called for an interview pretty quickly. We had a brief chat about my background and what I know about databases. Then, I was handed a questionnaire to complete right there with the manager watching over my shoulder on his computer. After I finished, he looked over my answers and asked for more details. It was a quick and to-the-point interview, but very effective in figuring out how good I am at this job.

Director
It started with a phone screen with the recruiter. Then I met the partner in charge, who I'd say is lower-level than usual. Both went well. Next, I interviewed with two peers, also directors, and that also went well. The partner in charge then wanted to consult my previous supervisor at Deloitte. I provided the senior partner's name and phone number. He left a message, and the Deloitte partner called back and left a message. Then another message. Then another. No callbacks, no professional courtesy, nothing. After two more weeks of me trying to reach out by email and phone, the recruiter picked up and said she'd check on my status and call me back. Still nothing. It's not worth discussing further; it's not even a factor in forensic business, but it would have been nice for the process to be handled professionally.
- What are some typical questions you ask?
- Can you elaborate on the typical follow-up questions?
Auditor
There were two rounds with different teams. The first round had HR, supervisor, manager, and a partner. The second round had a manager and a partner. They asked for details on the work I did on audits. I think the partner in the second round decides if you're a good fit. HR was really nice and stayed with me between interviewer meetings.
- Tell me about the detailed work experience you have.
- What exactly do you do in your current position?
Accountant
I talked to two managers and a partner. It wasn't super technical. They asked normal questions and seemed to care most about whether I'd be a good fit for the team. They were really nice and told me what industries I might work in and what the returns might look like.
- Can you tell me about your previous role?
- What types of M-1s have you encountered?
- Are you staying current with tax law updates?
