Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Benevity.
Manager
I got contacted less than 24 hours after applying and had my interview a few days later. Then I had three follow-up calls the same day about salary and start dates. The recruiter called me a top candidate and set up a quick interview with the C-suite for the next day. After that, it was Christmas break, so things got quiet. I followed up after the break and was told they were still interviewing and would reply early the next week. Two weeks passed, I followed up again and heard nothing. Another week passed and still nothing. Then I received an automated email saying they chose an internal candidate. I was so disappointed with how they handled it; they took up a lot of my time over several days and gave strong signals I was a contender, then ghosted me. It left a bad feeling. If this is how they treat potential hires, I dodged a bullet.

Relationship Manager
After submitting my application, I got an email from the talent scout with some pre-screen questions to answer via email. A week later, they asked for my availability for a phone interview. This phone interview covered both technical and behavioral topics, and the talent scout was really friendly. I felt comfortable and got to ask questions at the end. Then, I was invited for an interview with the team leads the next week. This was also great, with engaging questions that felt like a conversation. The team leads knew a lot about the company and seemed really passionate. They told me about the next steps and gave me a tour. A few days later, the talent recruiter contacted me to set up a final interview with the hiring manager. This last interview was also casual. The hiring manager focused on answering all my questions about the role and company and making sure I was a good fit for the team and organization. The whole process was enjoyable, and the talent scout kept me informed.

Senior Manager
My initial chat with the recruiter was standard. The next step was an online interview with the hiring manager. Right when we started, before introductions, I had to take a quick online test that took about 20 minutes. I wasn't told about this test beforehand. After the test, the actual interview began, and another interviewer joined. The whole thing lasted almost an hour. The interviewers seemed a bit unprepared but had good intentions. They ended by saying they'd let me know about the next steps once they finished all interviews. However, they were really bad at communicating, and it took them 6-7 weeks to get back to me. By then, I'd already accepted other offers.
