Engineering Manager
It was a pretty standard hiring process. Started with a recruiter chat, then I had a bunch of calls with the vp of engineering and CTO. Then there was a 4-hour coding test, and finally a panel interview. For the panel, I had to do a presentation on a full stack project. They said it'd be 1-2 hours, but honestly, it felt impossible to get done in that timeframe. To be frank, the whole thing felt a bit disorganized and amateurish. Nobody really explained the process beforehand, and it just seemed to go on forever. I put in a lot of work, and it was a really frustrating experience. They sent a generic rejection email 3 days after the panel presentation, even though I thought I did a good job. I asked for feedback, which they mentioned in the rejection, but then they just ghosted me. Looking back, I probably dodged a bullet because the engineering org seems pretty junior.
- What defines a high-performing team?
- Can you describe a project you managed?
Customer Experience Associate
So the interview process started with a take-home assessment where I had to answer 3 questions that were based on real customer issues, just to see how I'd approach them. After that, I had a 30-minute video call with the recruiter, who was really nice and helpful. Then came a 1-hour virtual interview with two people: the new hiring manager and the previous one. The new manager led most of it, with the old one there for support. It was a bit hard to get a feel for the new manager's style since she'd only been there a month, but the older manager seemed much more approachable. I didn't get past this round, but the next step would have been a final interview with the team.
- Tell me about a time you created something from the ground up.
- Describe how you navigate situations lacking clarity.
- What's your approach to dealing with a challenging customer?
GTM Analyst
It started with a recruiter call, then a take-home assignment where I had to work with marketing data in Excel. After that, there were two 30-minute qualitative calls, one with the Head of Marketing and another with the Head of Strategy and Ops. The process concluded with a case study presentation to both of them. The recruiter was great with communication and turnaround times. They also gave me a heads-up call before each round, which was super helpful for preparing. The interviews themselves were pretty standard, but the overall process took a while because there were quite a few stages.
- What's the most impactful thing you've learned recently?
Marketing and Business Development
The interview process was long! To Benepass' defense, there were A LOT of internal things going on that stretched out my interview process but here's how it went: 1) Screening 2)Hiring Manager Int 3)Mock Call w/Manager 4)Peer Interview 5) Reference Check 6)Reference Check Interview Yes, 6 steps but this made me feel good about the diligence and care that went into hiring for this specific team. I kept in constant communication with Lauren, she's the Head of Talent, and she was always responsive, timely, and transparent with me. Prepare for STAR method questions and just be yourself. Paint your stories in a compelling way and just vibe!
- Can you share an instance where you dealt with a challenging prospect and how you successfully addressed their objection?
- Describe a situation where you creatively overcame an objection to secure a meeting.
- What was your sales quota for the last fiscal year, and were you able to meet it?
