It was okay, I didn’t really like that it took around 3 weeks to do everything. The first video interview was okay, I didn’t mind it and it was nice to have the chance to do it alone but the timer kind of stressed me out. The second interview wasn’t bad too, I was a bit nervous but it was grand too. The third interview was just a confirmation, nothing hard, it was over in 5 min which was good.

The interview was a six-hour trial shift at the counter where I had to try and attract passersby in the department store to the Benefit products (local activation). I had to lure potential customers to the stand with lines like 'Hey, I'll give you beautiful eyebrows in two minutes.' A Benefit colleague suggested I should also look at the visitor's perceived problem area when asking questions, to make her feel like her brows needed some work. Not only do I not like the company's style, but I also thought the working conditions were insufficient. No break for the toilet or food/drink was planned, and only after mentioning several times that I was really thirsty was I allowed to get water. The counter manager introduced herself briefly at the beginning and only told me that I should try to achieve 390€ in profit that day. After that, I didn't see her again. To top it all off, my travel costs of over 80€ have still not been reimbursed. I am truly extremely disappointed with Benefit. The products are great and I've always liked the brand because of its image. I decided against the job after the trial shift and would also advise against it.
