So I recently went through the hiring process at Bending Spoons and honestly, I found it to be way too complicated, really frustrating, and in the end, just not worth the time I put into it. They had these irrelevant assessments, like abstract logic tests and old-school brain teasers, that didn't seem to have much to do with the actual job. It felt more like they were just trying to see if I could jump through hoops. Then, during the live problem-solving part, the questions were tough to hear and not explained very well. It would have been so much easier if they'd just given us a simple PDF with the questions. And even after I spent hours on this whole thing, all I got back was some generic feedback that didn't really tell me what I did wrong or how I could get better. The whole process felt totally disconnected from the role I applied for, like it was more about filtering people out than actually seeing if they had the right skills. It was just a draining and disappointing experience overall. If you're thinking about applying, just be ready for a process that seems to prefer complicated stuff over being clear, and don't expect any useful feedback afterward.

The interview process was quite extensive. It started with a screening call, followed by a series of challenging online tests that took about 4-5 hours to complete. Next, I had a 1-hour behavioral interview with the Hiring Manager, where we discussed my background and work style with straightforward questions. Then, I went through a 1.5-hour technical interview and a 1-hour problem-solving interview, though the order was supposed to be the other way around. Interestingly, the technical interview was a mix of behavioral and technical questions, including situational ones. The problem-solving interview was fair but had some tricky aspects. I was also asked to provide 3 references, but they only contacted one because they had already made a decision. After the outcome, they offered a brief call to provide feedback on my performance, which was a nice gesture.

So, the first thing they did was screen my resume. Then, I got this take-home test with a bunch of problems that took about 3 hours to finish. You can do each problem on its own, and they give you 10 days to send it all back. The problems were pretty cool, asking to interpret and analyze data in different scenarios. I didn't make it to the next stage because there were so many applicants.
