Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Benchmark International.
Analyst
So the interview was pretty standard, you know, just talking to different people on the team about what the job is and what they do. They also gave me a practical thing to do where I had to figure out the Adjusted EBITDA (AEBITDA), to see if I could do financial analysis. It was pretty normal overall, but they wanted to see if I could talk to people and if I knew my stuff.
- The interview process was pretty standard, with discussions with team members about the role and responsibilities.
- A key part was a practical task where I had to calculate Adjusted EBITDA (AEBITDA), demonstrating my financial analysis skills.
- The overall experience felt routine but emphasized both communication and technical ability.
Analyst
I applied for a lead analyst role where I would manage a team of 5. They actually offered me a transaction analyst position, which was weird because it wasn't what I applied for. I asked for a specific base salary, but they offered incentives and bonuses tied to team production and sales, which weren't even in the job description, and my base pay was 20K below what I asked for. I have over 7 years of analyst and team supervision experience, so I declined because it felt sketchy and showed poor ethics from the start.
- Tell me about your experience managing a team.
Analyst
First, we talked about my background and why I'm interested in the role and market. Then, we had an open chat about the job itself and what's expected. Finally, we had a real talk about the company and the opportunity.
- Why are you interested in our company?
