So the first step was a group discussion to see who made it to the next round. If you passed that, you got invited for an in-person interview at the company. The people interviewing me were really clear with their questions and would explain things more if I didn't answer well enough. There were two people on the panel, and they really seemed to care about my frontend implementation experience.

The interview process usually starts with you submitting an application. Then, a recruiter or HR person might give you a call to see if you're qualified and if you're interested. If that goes well, you could have an initial interview, which might be in person or over video. This interview could be with a recruiter, HR, or the hiring manager, and they'll likely ask about your skills, experience, and if you'd fit in. If you get past that, you might have more interviews with people you'd work with, like peers or managers. These could dive deeper into specific job skills, how you solve problems, or if you're a good cultural fit. Depending on the job, you might have to take a skills test. Before they decide, they'll probably check your references. If they pick you, they'll offer you the job, including details on pay and benefits, and you might be able to negotiate. It's all about them checking if you're a good fit and you learning about the company.

A few days after I sent in my resume, I got an email from Gensuite to schedule a 15-minute phone interview. They called exactly on time, but my phone dropped the call! They seemed understanding though and we continued. It was going okay until they described the job as a help desk role, not really an associate business analyst role. I get that learning systems is important, but the job was really focused on just one part of the description. A few days after that, I got the rejection email.

I was contacted by Granite Services, LLC (the preferred contracting company of Gensuite), and was interviewed by a recruiter advertising the position. Then, 2-3 weeks later, I was passed to a recruiting manager for a second phone interview. Once I passed that, I was set-up with a face-to-face interview in the Gensuite building. I did extremely well, and a week or two later was set-up with a 4th interview with the VP of the department. Both the VP and the hiring manager gave very positive feedback to Granite Services regarding my experience, and my qualifications that matched exactly what they were looking for. I was told that some "arrangements" needed to be made to start me in the position, and they would be in touch shortly about the starting process. Two more weeks later, I had not heard anything from either company, so I contacted the Granite Services recruiting manager. He told me that the position was not going to be filled until later this year, and the decision had been made to fill it internally. So, after a two month long rigorous interview process, they strung me along by telling me that my skills fit exactly what they were looking for, and they didn't even bother to inform me that they had decided a while ago to fill the position internally, and not until quarter 3. Why interview me FOUR different times, then not even bother calling me back to let me know the status of the decision?
