First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Bench Craft Company.
Sales Associate
The process was straightforward. They explained the company's history and its growth over time. I had a meeting with a senior salesperson who described how sales conversations happen and the steps involved in closing a deal. We also discussed compensation and career advancement opportunities. The people I met seemed friendly, and it looks like a positive work environment. I was happy with how the interview was conducted.
- How would you fit into this company?
Project Manager
It was a quick phone call, really easy to chat through with not too many questions. They offered me the job pretty fast. They seemed most concerned about how soon I could start. They want people who can sell and have the stamina to be on the phone all day.
- Can you tell me about your sales experience?
Administrative Assistant
They gave me a tour of the company/building, explained the product and what is being sold, and gave me a low down on the management, etc. I might talk to one or two people, in my case I talked to three different people. They definitely gauge your personality type, that is something very important at Bench Craft.
- Do you have sales experience?
Inside Sales Representative
I sent my resume in from a Craigslist ad and got a call back about a week later. I met with two of the three managers for about 40 minutes. They called me back the next day to talk to Edward, the sales manager, but I told them I was going to stick with my current job since I'm employed. My gut feeling is this company isn't customer-focused, just after the next $375 deal. The negative reviews online from customers confirmed this. Kevin also mentioned there's a lot of 'pressure' and they want people who can handle it, which I think means someone yelling at you to close deals. I'm guessing it's a 45-50k/year job for the few who stay, maybe some make more.
- What sales experience do you have that's most relevant?
- Can you tell me about your background in general?
