Sales Development Representative
After applying online, I got an email from the recruiter to set up a Zoom call with HR. The interview was very direct, with HR reading standard questions from a list, mostly behavioral ones. HR didn't introduce themselves or explain the role first. This made the interview very structured and didn't allow for natural conversation to get to know the candidate or learn about the role, company culture, etc.
- What motivates you to want to work for Bench?
- Describe a mistake you made and the lesson you took away from it.
- Share an instance where a customer or client rejected you, and explain how you eventually persuaded them.
Sales Development Representative
I applied online and a recruiter reached out the next day for a zoom interview. The interviewer was great and answered all my questions. They asked behavioral questions and about my work experience. After about a week and a half, they let me know I wouldn't be moving forward for the initial role but wanted to interview me for an Account Manager position. This interview was with two team leads, lasted an hour, and was mostly behavioral and get-to-know-you questions. It was a positive experience! A little over a week later, the recruiter called and said I wasn't chosen for the Account Manager role but offered me an Onboarding Coordinator position. They gave me feedback on why I wasn't a fit for the Account Manager role but that they wanted me on the team. I accepted and I'm excited to start!
- Tell me about a time you had to make a decision without having all the information.
- Can you describe an instance where things didn't go as planned?
Sales Development Representative
I applied on Bench's website, making sure to fill out everything carefully. About two days later, the recruiter reached out via email to schedule a Zoom chat. This initial interview focused on behavioral questions and my reasons for wanting to join Bench. Following that, I was set up for another interview with two team leads later that week. We talked for over an hour, and it was a really great conversation. They asked more behavioral questions and gave me a sense of the work environment. Within hours of that interview, the recruiter contacted me about the next steps and then called to let me know they were offering me the position. I had to complete a background check application, and the contract arrived the next day.
- What motivates you to want to work at Bench?
- Can you role-play handling an inbound lead?
- Describe a time you had to overcome a challenge.
