Candidate interview experiences

Applied on May 29th, had a phone interview on June 4th, and the first in-person interview was on June 7th. The interview process itself was pretty standard. My main issue was with how they informed me of the outcome post-interview. They scheduled a phone call via email, which turned out to be a call to tell me I wasn't moving forward. They did provide feedback, which I appreciate. However, informing a candidate about a rejection over the phone can be confusing, especially if they expect good news from a scheduled call. An email would have been better for a rejection, especially with the feedback included. This would have simplified things, particularly for those like me who need to arrange time and a private space at work for phone interviews. Otherwise, the screening and interviews were standard. The reason for rejection was mainly that I blanked out and sounded incoherent, saying random words. So, being rejected makes sense, and the feedback aligned with my own thoughts.

The interview process was absolutely fantastic. The team was extremely welcoming and did a great job at making me feel comfortable throughout the entire interview. I felt like I could actually be myself. I was given a tour of the office (think Macs/Macbooks, brick walls, open and modern concept), offered food (avocados, bananas, granola, peanuts, etc), and even introduced to a couple extremely friendly people around the office. I would have 100% taken the job if I hadn't received another offer prior.
- It was more just a fluent conversation with open questions back and forth. Mostly me asking about their processes and them asking about my relevant experiences.

The interview process began with a 1:1 call. Then, there was an assignment that was pretty subjective, which I think could lead to candidates being rejected for not fitting the culture, when it might just be a lack of direction or understanding of company policy. After that, I had a panel interview over Zoom with three people. They mentioned there are an additional 1-2 stages if you move past that. It feels like the process is taking way too long for a recruiter role, which usually doesn't take weeks or months to fill. The assignment they gave was really basic, like something from undergrad, and I think top talent would be turned off by it. The Zoom panel was a bit chaotic with who was supposed to speak, making me unsure if I was talking enough. It seems like if you don't instantly click with everyone, you won't get hired, which might be why roles I applied for two months ago are reposted. While the people are lovely, they need to stop looking for 'unicorns' and focus on hiring actual workers rather than friends. I'm probably too direct for them, and it feels like a 'cultural' fit issue, which is why I think the same roles keep getting reposted.
