First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Bench Accounting.
Lead Associate
I went through a series of questions that were both technical and behavioural. Most of them were about teams, people, or situations relevant to the company. I spoke with one HR person and one direct manager.
- As a leader, how will you support your team through fast-paced changes in product growth and implementation?
Associate
The process was quick and easy. It started with a zoom interview with HR, followed by a second interview with two team leads. The first interview was about 30 minutes, and the second was about an hour. They asked pretty standard questions, focusing more on times I didn't succeed than on my personal strengths. I think they're looking for people who are normal and decent at interacting with others.
- Can you share an instance where you didn't achieve a goal and what you learned from it?
- How would you handle a situation where a customer is very angry about a mistake in their books?
Associate
I applied for the job on their website and was asked to schedule an interview one week later. The interview questions were pretty standard, but I was surprised by how many they asked in just 30 minutes. I answered about 10 questions back-to-back, which was a bit challenging, but I felt the interviewer was trying their best to make me feel comfortable.
- Tell me about a time you had to give negative feedback.
- Describe a situation where you didn't meet a goal.
