First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at BEML.
Junior Executive
It was an easy campus interview. The first round was a group discussion, which was pretty standard for these kinds of interviews. After that, they had a personal interview where they asked technical questions related to my background.
- Technical questions basics and project
Welder
The interview process included a practical test where I had to weld SS samples, followed by a one-on-one interview with the production manager. The personal interview covered my previous welding experience, different welding positions, welding defects, and familiarity with NDT methods like DPT and MPT.
- Can you tell me about your previous welding experience and your overall knowledge of welding?
- Can you describe your experience with welding in different positions?
- What are some common welding defects you are aware of?
Engineer
They asked me about myself, my qualifications, and what I'm currently doing. Then, we talked about the projects I've done. Since I work in tool design, they asked me about different sheet metal operations and specifically how a countersinking operation was done. Finally, they asked if I was interested in working in production.
- Could you tell me about yourself?
- What are your qualifications and what do you do now?
- Can you walk me through the projects you've completed?
Engineer
The process starts with a written exam, then there's an interview by a board. It's a standard process. Reservations are provided for different categories as per government rules. The written exam holds a lot of weight, so interview marks are only crucial when there are limited openings.
