This was prob the worst interview experience I've had. I saw signs they were hiring, so I picked up an application. I filled it out and handed it back to the manager the next day. They seemed friendly and said they'd schedule an interview based on my schedule. They set it for two days later at 3pm. I showed up early and dressed well, but had to wait for a staff member to find the manager. The manager sounded annoyed on the radio and said they were on lunch. I waited 20 minutes past the interview time, and then some guy who wasn't even a manager came to do the interview. He took me upstairs and then left me waiting for another 10 minutes to get paperwork. He finally started the interview, which was pretty standard but thoughtful. We got along, and I thought I was making a good impression. The interview lasted at least 20 minutes. Right at the end, he asked if I was graduating high school soon and if I'd be available for summers and holidays working part-time. Then he said he didn't want to hire anyone like that and basically ended the interview. I left an hour and a half after I arrived, very frustrated. They were late, rude, and then decided not to hire me last minute.

I applied online and heard back pretty quick, like within 8 hours (the next morning!). I set up a time, and then went in to meet the Operations Manager who was doing the interviewing. He was super nice and friendly. We talked about what I thought customer service was, if I agreed that the 'customer is always right', for a favorite store experience because of good service, my past retail experience (I was a cashier for 2 years before), and why I quit my last gig. They did two interviews right then and there, even though I've heard some folks have to come back for the second one.

I applied online and then waited about 3 weeks for a call from HR to set up a face-to-face interview. The next week, I went to the store and met with HR, who asked me some behavioral questions and about my availability. Then, about 4 days later, I had another interview with the Store Manager. She asked pretty much the same questions as HR, but also asked how I would upsell to customers at checkout and for an example of a time I had to multitask.
