There were about 2 or 3 interviews. It started with a phone call with HR, then an in-person meeting with the DM, and possibly another in-person interview with the SM. After that, if they wanted to move forward, they needed corporate approval, which I assume leads to an offer. I felt like I was being strung along because of poor communication. They said they really liked me and wanted to offer me the job, and that I wouldn't need a third interview. They mentioned it needed to go to corporate and that I'd get a formal offer within a week. However, two weeks passed, and my emails and calls weren't returned. I eventually found out that corporate wouldn't approve another hire for the position. The whole process seemed very disorganized, which was a big disappointment.

I applied in person at Bed Bath and Beyond. A week after I submitted my application, the customer service supervisor called me for an interview. Even though my application clearly stated I was seeking a management or supervisor role, he suggested I start as a sales associate. He mentioned that all employees begin at the entry level and advance from there, which I'm a bit skeptical about. The interview itself was quite short, lasting only about 15 minutes.

I applied online and the district HR manager contacted me within an hour to ask about my willingness to relocate, which is a priority for them. I mentioned I'd consider it later. She then suggested a phone interview since the role was in Sioux Falls and she was in Des Moines. I told her I'd be in Des Moines visiting family and could interview in person if she preferred. I went to the store for the interview and was taken upstairs to the office. The DHRM, dressed casually, had me fill out a paper application and asked me a lot of questions about my background and experience. After a short 20-minute chat with the DHRM, I interviewed with the District Manager, who was also dressed casually. We talked for about 30 minutes, and he asked the same questions as the DHRM. He then shared more details about the position, like the 50-hour work weeks. He told me there were no openings in the area I applied for, but since I'm open to relocating, he'd place me in the store where I live, train me, and then transfer me elsewhere after training. He said I would have gotten the job if there were openings and wants me to meet the store manager next, seeing potential in me and thinking I'd be a good fit.
