I talked to HR for a first screening, then had a panel interview with 3 engineers. The screening was okay. The engineer interview, though, really turned me off the company. One of the engineers asked a really misogynistic question. They also kept asking me the same questions repeatedly, as if I didn't know what I applied for. The work-life balance for this role sounded really bad. One of the interviewers even said it's tough to have personal relationships when working this job. Interviews are for companies to know candidates, but interviewers should remember that the candidate is also evaluating the company. I left the interview knowing I didn't want to work there and won't apply to other jobs at this company.

Behavioral Technical Coding

I got recruited on campus by a local recruiter in Miami, FL. Then I had a 45 minute phone interview with a Senior Staff Engineer. That interview was behavioral with a little bit of technical added. I was then selected to the final interview process where I was flown up to Chaska, MN. There were 17 candidates and they were selecting 7.

HR Outsourcing handles everything about the interviews. You have to get through 7 rounds of 1:1 chats with managers and VPs before you get an offer. Outside companies do the drug test and background checks. HR just handles the paperwork. Onboarding is messy since there's no one person for the job in HR. Hiring was delayed because HR didn't tell me all the paperwork I needed to finish up.
