I'm a new grad and applied for a job on a general med surg floor. About a week after I applied online, I got a call. Since I went to school out of state, I could only do the interview in early June. First, I met with the HR person, and then they took me to the floor I applied for. There, I met the charge nurse and one of the nurse managers, and I interviewed with both of them. Everyone was super nice and made me feel really comfortable! I'm still waiting to hear back from HR about my references and the interview.

First I met with HR for a sort of "mini-interview" which I think went okay. They asked stuff like why I wanna work for them, a time I learned a lot, the difference between a good nurse and a GREAT nurse, etc. Then I went up to the actual hospital unit and talked with the unit manager. This interview was a bit more intense and nerve-wracking, but I guess I did well enough since they offered me the job!

I had one interview with HR, then HR called me about 1-2 weeks later to follow up and make me the job offer and salary. I had a week-long orientation before I was hired. The interview wasn't hard and there was no testing.
