Brand Ambassador
This company gives off a strong vibe of teamwork and fun, but it honestly feels like a pyramid scheme. I went through a phone screen and then an in-person interview at their office. The front desk person was busy with phone screens the entire time I was there. After a brief chat with the company president, I was sent to a marketing booth they had set up offsite. That's where I found out the job was not what was advertised online; it's called a Brand Ambassador, and for the first 9 months (Brand Ambassador for 4-12 weeks, then promoted to Campaign Manager), you're basically selling products at a booth in places like Sam's or Costco. Their business idea is interesting, but the model seems like a pyramid scheme without the personal financial risk. The idea is that after a year, you'd be promoted to opening your own office and make more money by bringing in new people. At the end of the interview, they sent me home and told me to email both people I spoke with, listing three skills I could use to help Bear Claw events grow the company and explaining what makes them stand out from competitors. I did that and then withdrew my application because I wanted to warn others that this job isn't what it seems.

Marketing Specialist
It was a good interview overall. The HR Manager was super nice on the phone and really honest about the position being entry-level, even though I had management experience and a business degree. I was cool with it and wanted to meet the President. He was awesome, explaining everything about the job with so much passion. The company is growing a lot, which is a great sign. They've got some big retail partnerships with impressive names. The schedule is typical for retail, and they were clear it'd be a commitment at first. Pay is fair for entry-level, and they offer base pay, unlike some other marketing places. I met four employees who all seemed really happy to be there. The second interview was actually at one of their stores, which I appreciated because I got to see the entry-level work and training firsthand. It's a smart way to market products, very casual and customer-focused, not pushy. They are well-trained. In the end, we decided I wasn't the best fit, mostly because I'm looking for a graphics role and they have a dedicated team for that. But it's a great company with a cool culture. My acquaintance who applied is starting soon, though.

Account Manager
The interview process took about a week and was divided into 3 sections. The first interview was in the office with the CEO and was VERY informative. I learned more about what they're looking for in a candidate and I was informed about the training process that they offer to every new employee. The second interview was at one of the events and I actually got to see everything in action. The account manager told me more about the training process and how to advance within the company. The last interview was over the phone with the CEO and he answered all of my final questions in detail. Overall the experience was positive, professional, and incredibly informative.
- Can you share an instance from a previous role where you encountered a challenge and demonstrated self-motivation to overcome it?
Customer Experience Specialist
I saw the job online and applied. Then I came in to speak with the CEO. Both him and the young lady that I talked to were very direct and upfront with me. I really appreciated this because so many companies are just shady. I had a pretty good conversation with them both. They explained that I'd be working in customer service but mixing in business skills as well. I come from a science background so I definitely needed more of the business side. I wasn't selected to move on but I still feel very informed about what their goals are. If the positions opens again I'll give it another try.
- Are you a self-starter?
