Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Beaconfire.
Software Engineer
First there was a background check, then some leet code testing. After that, a technical interview where they asked about my Java skills, data structures, SQLs, and Spring. They also asked some questions about my resume and past experiences.
- Do you know Java?
- Tell me about your data structures knowledge.
- What are your SQL skills?
Software Engineer
First, there was a phone interview. Then, a technical interview which involved solving an easy LeetCode problem, discussing Python concepts, and going over your resume. Finally, there was a closing interview where you could ask them some questions.
- What's the difference between Python tuples and lists?
- In Python, is everything an object?
- Can you discuss your experience with Python?
Software Engineer
This is a pretty standard process for consulting companies that hire new grads, similar to Revature or Antra. Beaconfire hires grads and has a process with two phone interviews and a technical interview, usually done by recruiters from overseas who have trouble with English. If you pass these, you get an opportunity for unpaid training for 6-8 weeks. After that, they teach you how to interview for clients with a fake resume, and you'll probably have to relocate somewhere in the US. These companies are common for new tech or bootcamp grads. At best, they offer a bad, unprofessional interview practice, and on average, they're just a waste of time. I wish I could get my time back.
- Could you tell me about your previous experience in the tech field?
- Which technology stacks have you worked with or are you familiar with?
- What's your grasp on the fundamentals of JavaScript?
