I found the Beaconfire job on LinkedIn, and a recruiter got in touch. We had a first chat over the phone, then I did an online assessment, and finally, a technical interview. The person interviewing me was really nice, and even when I had some tech problems on my end, she was super patient.

HR reached out on LinkedIn. I replied and sent my resume. Then there was a phone call interview asking about my interests, resume, and some basic CS questions. After that, I got an online assessment with two LeetCode problems. If you pass, there's a technical interview, and then a final HR interview. If all stages are passed, you're considered for the training program.

Got contacted by a recruiter on LinkedIn for a Full-stack MERN role, which I applied for since their job spec was brief and I needed interview opportunities. After emailing, they set up an initial 30-minute phone interview. During the call, they discussed their company model: similar to Revature, they offer a 6-week MERN/MEAN bootcamp, followed by a period of client placement requiring a further client interview. The contract is for one year. I noted some red flags: they inflate resumes to appear as mid-senior developers, and those who don't pass client interviews are left without work. The advertised salary range of $65k-$80k is misleading, as the starting salary is $60k with a potential $5k performance bonus, increasing to $80k in the second year. Relocation to New Jersey is required for the bootcamp (though remote), and client roles might necessitate moving to different states. While benefits seem competitive, they might be a lure, especially for international candidates needing H1B/visa sponsorship. The company seems to be predominantly Asian, particularly from overseas. I decided not to proceed. The remaining stages include an online assessment with two 50-minute questions, followed by a 30-minute technical interview (15 mins for a Leetcode question and 15 mins to discuss technical projects/skills using a provided prep doc).
