Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at BeaconFire Solution.
Java Backend Engineer
The interview covers Java Basics, Spring Basics, MySQL basics, and REST API. The HR round will focus on your project experiences, especially with Spring or Spring Boot. If your answers are good, the coding part might be skipped. There will be an easy-medium coding problem to solve in your IDE.
- Can you explain the difference between HAVING and WHERE in SQL?
- Tell me about your project experience using Spring or Spring Boot.
- Write the code for an easy to medium difficulty problem in your IDE.
Java Developer
So, at BeaconFire, the whole thing kicks off with HR giving you a call to chat about who you are and what you've done. If that goes well, you gotta do this online coding test, you know, with algorithm stuff. If you nail that, then it's onto one or more tech interviews where they'll grill you on Java basics, data structures, OOP, and maybe some Spring. They often have you code live during these. Oh, and sometimes there's a behavioral chat at the end to see if you're a good fit and can talk the talk. It's a pretty detailed process, but they try to make it chill so you can show off and check them out too.
- In the online assessment, I had to work on a problem related to fraction numbers.
- For the OA, another problem I faced was about comparing numbers.
Java Developer
It was a 3-round process. First, there was one coding interview with about 3 problems, and for each problem, there were 3 small questions about optimization. No communication or problem analysis, just code writing. Then, there were 2 HR calls with some behavior questions, mostly talking about their situation. The interview was via Skype.
- Tell me about a basic algorithm and data structure problem.
- How would you optimize this?
