First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Beacon Hill.
Sales Representative
I got a phone screen after meeting recruiters at a college fair. The phone screen went well, with basic behavioral questions. The next round was also over the phone, and it was pretty similar. Be ready to explain why you want to do sales and how your background prepares you for it. The final round was an office visit that went on for a really long time, like 3.5 hours, which was a bit unprofessional, but I still liked the visit. I had one-on-one meetings with a manager, spent more time with the recruiters, did a group exercise about cold calling and voicemails, and then had a panel interview to finish up. Make sure you're really prepared to discuss not just why sales, but why Beacon Hill specifically. They also expect you to have good questions ready about the firm.
- Can you explain your interest in sales?
- What makes you want to work for Beacon Hill?
- Describe how you maintain motivation during challenging times.
Outside Sales Representative
The interview process was pretty simple, but it took a while to finish. The interviewers were good to talk to, which made it feel more relaxed. But, I noticed that the employees didn't seem to agree on the expected salary for the first five years. When I asked about how long people usually stay at the company, they weren't sure about the numbers and tried to avoid giving a straight answer.
- What makes you want to work in recruitment?
Sales
It was pretty easy, more like a chat than a real interview. They wanted to get a sense of your past roles and also just get to know you as a person. They also asked about your future aspirations and career goals.
