Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at BD.
Supply Chain Intern
There were 2 rounds of interviews before getting the offer. The first one was with an employee from BD. Then, I was invited to a joint interview with someone from HR and the department I would be working in.
- Why do you think you are a good fit for this role?
Supply Planner
First, I spoke with a recruiter for an initial screening, asking about my general experience and some HR-related questions. Then, I had a meeting with the hiring manager, followed by a session with team members. It was all pretty standard stuff, just normal interview questions like 'describe a difficult time at work.' The interviews themselves were fine, it's just a bummer they couldn't even be bothered to give me a response either way. Not the kind of professionalism I'd expect from a big company like this.
- Can you tell me about a challenging situation you've faced in your professional life?
Supply Chain Analyst
The interview process consisted of 3 rounds. First was a phone interview with HR. Second, a Zoom interview with the Hiring Manager where they went over the position details and asked about specific experiences relevant to the role and previous projects, along with some typical behavioral questions. This was a casual conversation. Third, a series of Zoom interviews with the prospective team. This included two, two-person panel interviews and a case study/hypothetical supply chain situation with the hiring manager. The atmosphere during these interviews was very casual. Just ask your HR rep what to expect and how to prepare, and you'll be over-prepared.
- Tell me about your resume and some general behavioral questions.
- Tell me about specific experiences you have that are similar to what we are looking for based on previous projects. Also, some typical behavioral questions.
- If you were hiring for this role after being hired yourself, what characteristics would you look for in a candidate?
