Sales
A headhunter calls to validate your experience and then schedules an interview at the company if you fit the profile. First, you have an interview with HR, and then 2 or 3 more with product leaders and managers.
- Are you aware of current events in the health sector?
- Can you tell me about new work methodologies you have implemented?
Inside Sales Representative
This hiring process was really drawn out, taking over a month and three interviews before they made a decision. After I sent in my resume, I was asked to do an online video interview with timed questions that were pretty tough to answer quickly. Then, HR contacted me to say I passed to the second round, which was a Skype interview with two inside sales managers. This round focused on my resume and some personal questions. If I passed that, the final interview was in person. It involved preparing and giving a 15-minute sales pitch presentation on which car brand (chosen from two options they provided) would be best for their sales reps. I presented this to the director of sales and five inside sales managers. During the presentation, many of them seemed bored. After presenting, I was grilled by the same six people with questions similar to the Skype interview. The last part was shadowing an inside sales rep for about 20 minutes. I noticed a lack of diversity on the sales floor, with mostly young, white Caucasians, which felt like a red flag. After shadowing, they walked me out and said they'd let me know their decision in a few days. A month later, and with lots of back-and-forth paperwork, I'm still waiting. What is this company thinking with such a long process?
- How have you handled feedback at past jobs?
- Can you tell me about your resume experiences?
- What personal questions do you have for me?
Inside Sales Representative
I applied for the Development Program for the Inside Sales Role. Started with an interview with Regional Sales Managers, who wanted me to continue with a panel/presentation interview. Regional Sales Managers gave me a few names of current employees who can help me prep for the next round of interviews. None of the employees answered back, so I was expected to present and prep on my own without a bit of guidance. Panel interview was okay, pretty basic/behavioral questions asked after. I sent a follow up email still expressing interest and requested some feedback. Hiring managers went ghost. Not even a rejection email.
- Can you tell me about your background?
- Describe your typical day in your current or previous role, particularly if you have a sales background.
- Could you share an example of a recent challenge you encountered and how you successfully navigated it?
