This was by far the worst interview experience I’ve had. They really liked my profile, so we had 2 interviews over 2 days. The interviews went well, they stressed that the culture is fast-paced and they are not patient when it comes to delivering results. They made an initial offer, but when I asked for time to consider, they cut the amount by 30% unless I show them all prior pay stubs and job contracts verifying my pay since graduating. The hiring manager told me through a recruiter that Shopee had just laid off people, and she’d rather look there for potential hires and get a good deal. Worst experience ever, their culture is horrible and they are upfront about it, which is surprising for an MNC, especially their global technology division. I’d advise against joining. They have a hustle culture without appropriate rewards. They said contract employees would rarely get permanent conversion.
- Were there any generic behavioral questions asked to see if I was a culture fit?
- Were there any questions about ETL setup?
- Were there any questions about database manipulation?

The interview process was not good, it was very disorganized. After two technical interviews and talking with HR, they gave me the salary details. Then HR scheduled a meeting with the manager and team members, and it turned into a rapid-fire interview. I've never experienced such a process before. The HR person didn't even know that the team meeting would be another interview. After all that, they put my application on hold. They really need to improve their interview process and make sure all departments are on the same page about what they're looking for in a candidate. The HR and the interview panel acted completely unprofessionally. If they can't even manage a simple process like this, I doubt how they operate at their level. I definitely wouldn't want to join an organization that seems so uncertain about its procedures.

Applied online and got a call from TA to discuss my profile - asked why BD and what value I'd bring. Then some HR questions about salary, benefits, and availability. Had 3 interviews in total, plus 4 SHL tests, 2 case studies, and a final presentation. The first interview was with a team member, covering my background and behavioral questions like achievements, failures, conflicts, and things left midway. They didn't go deep into details and asked my age, which was odd. Also asked about salary and benefits. The second interview was with the hiring manager, who reviewed my resume for transferable skills. Then I had to do 4 SHL tests over the weekend: Numerical, Logical, Verbal, and Personality. The third interview was with the HR manager, discussing the overall process, my motivation, and how I handle stress. The final stage involved 2 case studies: one for pricing analysis and another business case needing lots of Excel. This was followed by a final presentation to the hiring manager. Unfortunately, I didn't hear back from HR, so I assume I didn't get the job, but it would have been nice to get an email.
- Can you share an instance where you encountered failure?
