I submitted my application online, and about a month later, a recruiter reached out for a technical phone interview with a Senior Engineer. This interviewer was friendly and really seemed to love their job. The interview focused on my resume projects and OOPs concepts. A few days after that, I got an email inviting me to onsite interviews, and they gave me flexible dates to choose from. The interviews were in NYC, and the company covered all expenses, including flights and taxis. The onsite day involved a 1-hour problem-solving session, a 30-minute managerial chat, and a 30-minute behavioral interview. I was expecting whiteboard coding and data structures for the problem-solving part, but instead, I got very high-level questions about solving enterprise technical issues, which were tough for me as an intern. A lead engineer conducted this round. The other rounds were with two different engineering directors, who were also great and passionate about their work. About a week later, I heard back that they wouldn't be moving forward with my application. Overall, the process was really smooth and enjoyable, and I'm bummed I didn't get the chance to work with them.

Even though from my profile, initial email approach and screening call I made clear that I was specialized in Front end Development, only after 4 stages of remote and onsite interviews did they realize that - even though my profile is very strong - they prefer more a "Fullstack" oriented profile. It's a shame that lack of clear direction in terms of profile selection leads to lost time, effort and money for both the companies and the applicants.

It was a 4 step process. First, a recruiter screening. Then, a video interview with a technical lead. After that, a take-home coding test. Lastly, an onsite interview where I met with 4 different people. The HR part was super rough, scheduling took ages for each step. After the final onsite, I waited nearly two weeks without any news, and only got notified about the rejection when I asked for feedback, which they gave me the same day.
