The process started with an online application, followed by an HR phone screen via video call. Next, I had a video call with a Senior Product Manager. Then, there was a case round which involved a take-home case. This round was with the hiring manager and two members from an adjacent team, and it was recorded and reviewed by other employees. The final stage was with the hiring manager.

It was unfortunate that I was not moved to further rounds of the interview. As I always feared that BCG despite being great in consulting will not do justice when it comes to hiring for tech and product roles. In the past I have attended interviews at seasoned tech companies (i.e MS, Google, Intuit, Booking) and was moved to 3rd, 4th or final rounds in most of the cases. It was really a shock not to be evaluated for technical skills when hiring for technical roles. So, this was the first round which was a recruiter call and then a phone screen after which I was not selected.

- Started with my current role , spoke about what I am doing, the team I am part of and charter I am leading While I was talking about this Interviewed probed what made me to join current company and what was I doing before
- I started talking about my startup, how we came up idea , problem we were solving for consumers, products we builts and scale we achieved.

The interview process started with a recruiter phone screen, which felt like a waste of my time. The recruiter asked basic HR questions about relocation, sponsorship needs, and vaccination status. These details could have easily been confirmed via email, saving me preparation time. It was frustrating because they hadn't read my application, where I'd already stated my need for visa sponsorship, which they don't offer. A quick review of my application beforehand would have saved us both time and effort in scheduling and preparation.
