BCBG Store Manager Interview Questions
& Process

I was contacted to interview for a Store Manager role and was very excited at the possibility of finally getting back into retail/fashion, which is my passion, after working in corporate finance for a while. The interview went great, but because I lacked managerial experience, I was somewhat offered a lower position. I was told the District Manager would likely want to speak with me and they would be in contact that day or the next. I never heard from them. Two weeks later, I called the interviewer and was informed they were still awaiting feedback from the District Manager. It's now been a month, and I still haven't heard anything. It was more of a conversation-style interview, which was a big change from finance interviews. My advice is to ask the interviewer questions, dress fashion-forward, be energetic, and let your personality show. I was keen on advancing to corporate and growing with the company, so I had many questions about the process, and the interviewer did a great job answering them all. It was pleasant; I just wish the follow-up process had been a bit more professional.

The interview process was very professional. I had great communication with multiple members of BCBG. My first interview was over the phone and lasted for about 1.5 hours. My experience was positive and I was excited about learning more from the District Manager who I would interview with a week later. The District Manager was very poised and had a great sense for fashion. The interview lasted about 2 hours. It was a 2 way conversation which made it nice and easy to find out what the company looks for in Managers.

I was contacted by a recruiter about a Store Manager job. After a phone interview, I met with a District Manager. Then came an 'Interactive Interview' at a store, followed by a phone interview with a Regional Director. Setting up the Interactive Interview was tough, I had to do most of the work. After that, the fourth round they mentioned never happened. I emailed and called the recruiter but was ignored. Then the recruiter left a confusing voicemail about me not making an 'Interactive Interview' I'd already done, and wanted to set up another one where I'd travel on my own time again. I tried calling back to clarify but was ignored. Weeks later, a different District Manager for the same area contacted me about the original job. Despite being fed up, I agreed. It took weeks to set up a phone interview. He told me the job was filled but wanted me to do ANOTHER Interactive Interview at another store. He said he'd contact me the next week but never did. This whole process took three months. I'm glad it didn't work out and hope they treat employees better than candidates.
