First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at BCBG.
Marketing
I applied through my college and an HR rep reached out for a Skype interview, which was easy and went great. Then, I was connected with the Marketing Manager and interviewed over the phone, with similar questions to HR.
- Can you tell me about coursework relevant to this role?
- What relevant experience do you have?
Marketing Assistant
The recruiter noticed from my resume I didn't have the required experience. She mentioned the salary range, which was lower than my current pay, so I wasn't interested. I'd also heard bad things about working there. A week later, she called to ask if I could come in to meet the Marketing Manager and possibly talk about other higher-level roles. I agreed and went to the office, located in Vernon, an unpleasant part of LA near a sausage factory. The Manager seemed unaware of the recruiter's plan, as she focused on questions about the original role and didn't bring up other opportunities. It felt like a waste of time. The office environment seemed unprofessional, with many young women.
- Can you describe your current role and explain your reasons for seeking new employment?
Marketing
Had an initial phone interview screening. Then they asked me to come in several days later for a personal interview. I waited for the interviewer for a while before meeting, and they were a very rude individual. The whole vibe seemed disorganized, which matched the horror stories I heard from people who actually worked there.
- Can you share your experience in fashion and explain your interest in working for BCBG?
