Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at BBC.
Apprentice
went through an assessment centre, then later on had an individual interview. It was a strength-based interview. Questions touched on communication, adaptability, and working in a team. Best to focus on the job description and the company values and link it to your experience.
- Why are you interested in this specific role?
- Tell me about something new you've learned recently, this can be personal.
Apprentice
So I applied online and then had to do a HireVue video interview. It asked about why I wanted the job, what my values are, what I'm good at, and if I know about the BBC. They gave good instructions, but it felt pretty intense talking to the camera.
- What makes you want to apply for this BBC apprenticeship, and what skills or experiences do you have that would be good for the job?
- Tell me about the skills and experiences you'd bring to this apprenticeship role and why you're interested in the BBC.
Apprentice
I recently went through the interview process for a BBC Apprenticeship, and it was both tough and encouraging. The interview had a mix of competency-based and scenario questions designed to check my technical skills and soft skills. The interviewers were nice and gave me clear information about the job and the company culture, which helped me relax. All in all, it was a tough but fair process that made me more excited about the idea of working at the BBC.
- Can you share an example of something you've created or accomplished that you're proud of?
