First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at BB&T.
Leadership Development Program
I first talked to a recruiter at a school job fair, and they were really friendly. After that, I applied on my school's website. I then had an oncampus interview that was about 45 minutes long. The interviewer asked me general questions about leadership experience and other behavioral things. They also asked what qualities I look for in a boss. The interviewer was really nice and personable. A few weeks later, I got an email asking me to do a skills and IQ test, but I decided not to since I was going to law school. Overall, it was a very positive experience with BB&T.
- Can you describe the three qualities you value most in a boss?
- What question do you anticipate I might ask, which I haven't?
- How would you answer the question I haven't asked you?
Leadership Development Program
The interview process started with a first round that was all behavioral. They asked some pretty basic questions like what caused the recession and who's at fault for the housing collapse. After that, I had to complete a caliper assessment online. Then, I was invited to Winston-Salem for a two-day process. The second day included a behavioral interview, a case study about buying a new regional bank, a persuasion interview, and a written assessment where I had to explain why banks are important. The questions weren't bad.
- What was the cause of the housing collapse?
- Why are banks important?
- What would your peers say are your strongest and weakest assets as a leader?
Leadership Development Program
Went through an initial campus interview back in October, then had to do a Kaplar test. Didn't hear back until very late December. Got invited to a super day in February, which included dinner at a country club and then multiple interviews the following day. The interviews had behavioral questions, some role playing, a writing exercise, and a case presentation. Still waiting to hear back.
- Imagine I'm a customer thinking about moving my account to another bank. How would you convince me to stay with BB&T?
